Distance Riding 101 Clinic

Chandelle Farm We are very excited to announce our first Distance Riding 101 Clinic this year!!!

June 1st & 2nd, 2013 (Rain or Shine)

This clinic will be geared toward introducing you to the sport of distance riding through a hands-on approach. Saturday will include a rotation through interactive workshops and Sunday will include a 6 mile or 12 mile guided ride. (Riders Choice)

This year’s presenters are Dr. Pam Karner and Patti Stedman. Topics will include an in depth look at how to prepare the horse & rider team, how the competitions work and how to have not only success – but FUN!

Camping will be in a large grassy field; campers must bring their own equipment (tents, sleeping bags, etc). Sleeping in horse trailers on a cot is an alternative. Porta potties provided. You are responsible for containing your horse. Portable fencing is allowed. There are a limited number of stalls available for use, please mark on registration form if needed. Horse water will be available. Please plan to provide all other needs for your horse (feed, buckets, tack, blankets, etc). We will run rain or shine, be prepared!

** Arrival Friday night (after 4pm) is OK (no additional cost unless renting a stall), but you have to let us know you’re coming!

All auditing entries include:
Saturday – Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner

** No meals provided Friday for those arriving early
*** Have someone traveling with you who isn’t participating in the clinic? No problem, we’ll feed them too! (See fees below)


Mounted Participation (Saturday & Sunday): $110
Auditors (Saturday Only): $45
Stall Rental Fee (provide your own bedding): $25/night
Extra Saturday Meal (includes breakfast, lunch & dinner): $10
Extra Sunday Meal (includes breakfast & lunch): $5

There are only 25 Mounted Participation slots available (unlimited auditors).

Entries will be accepted up until May 24, BUT IF THERE ARE NOT ENOUGH ENTRIES TO FINANCE THE CLINIC, THE CLINIC WILL BE CANCELED ON MAY 18 so please sign up before this date. Refunds given (less a $25 clerical fee for mounted participation entries, $15 for audit entries) up to May 17. Refunds will be given after May 17 at the discretion of the clinic organizers depending on expenses. In the event that the clinic is cancelled, full refunds will be given.
